The Slpendid Splendide

As you may recall, we have a washer/dryer combo made by Splendide, an American company located in Clackamas, OR.   We believe our Splendide was added a year, or so after the construction of our coach.  Until we stopped here in Campbellsville we had not used it on a regular basis, but since the dryers in the on site laundry facility do not dry very fast TLE has been using the Splendide to do all our wash, and it is working out wonderfully, plus the dryer works quite well!  So, instead of sitting in the laundry room waiting for several loads of wash to never quite get dry TLE can sit "home" doing a small load every day, plus she doesn't have to transfer the wet clothes to the dryer.

The Splendide was one of the deciding factors in purchasing our coach.  There were several things I wanted in our second motorhome, and one of them was a washer/dryer.  When we first visited our "baby" in Palm Desert back in February of 2008 that was one of the things I noticed right off the bat.....next was the walk around bed, another big selling point for me.

It's funny, there are many folks here who have washer/dryers in their coaches, but most of them do not seem to utilize them.   The common complaint I hear is "I have to do so many loads", or "it doesn't dry fast enough".  Like many things, using a small washer/dryer is a matter of adjusting your thinking.  Instead of saving up the laundry and doing it all at once you just have to break it up into small loads and do a little every day, or so.  At any rate, that is my take on our Splendide, and how it plays such an important part in our fulltiming lifestyle.

Thursday was very sunny, but not so warm....still in high 40's, low 50's, but sitting inside at the computer is is nice to feel the sun streaming in through the window on to my back.  TLE did a load of wash, of course....this time washing our micro fiber towels that I use to wipe off the 'Bird every morning there is dew, as well as the coach windows, interior glass and mirrors.   We are supposed to have temps in the 70's this weekend, and I am looking forward to it.

Even though the forecast was for mid 30's at 4am, the time we clock out from our 10 hour shift, we decided to walk to and fro.  The 10 hours went by pretty fast, although work is still slower than normal due to the storm disruptions we are at least getting our 10 hours in, and not being sent home early at all this week.

When we exited the Amazon building at 4:10am, it was cold, but we were dressed for it, and made the walk home in less than 10 minutes. Friday is our last Friday on the current Tuesday to Friday schedule.  We don't go back to work until next Wednesday, and soon, very soon, we will begin our 5 day work schedule.  We are now 5 weeks into our work commitment, and it seems to be going faster and faster.  Looking forward fondly to spending time in Cedar Key, FL in less than 2 months now!

Thanks for stopping by!
