TVC - Day 29 - The scent of Tahoe

Sunday turned out to be a magical, sunny, balmy day in SLT.....the kind of day where you walk outside to that wonderful Lake Tahoe aroma.....crisp mountain air mixed with the scents of lodge pole pines, sugar pines, and ever so slowly composting pine needles....and know without a doubt exactly where you are, and why you are spending the summer once again in one of your favorite places on earth.  I guess it's the combination of mountain air, amazing scenery, and over 60 years of fond memories that make it so......especially the memories......without the decades of good memories Lake Tahoe is just another beautiful place, and there are a plethora of those places all around the world.

I spent the morning doing site inspections, and picking up the small detritus that accumulates over time when humans inhabit a campground.....cigarette butts, peanut shells, small cellophane wrappers, broken zip ties, orange peels, q-tips, etc....the big stuff is easy to spot, but it is the small stuff that if left unattended accumulates over time and begins to give the impression that no one cares....and it takes a lot of time to eradicate it.  I managed to process sites 101-120.....hmmm...there are only 409 sites to go.

Sunday was also the day the balance of our Newell Guru friends arrived at TVC......the first coach of the day to arrive was owned by Richard and Rhonda whom we first met back in 2009 at the first mini rally in Austin, TX.  The second brought Ed and Lynda whom we had not met before, but struck up an immediate friendhsip....and then Chester and Jan arrived....we met them two years ago at the Spearfish, SD rally.  So, our group is here.....not as many as we have had in past years, but we will have fun, nevertheless.......having potluck dinners, working on each others coaches......in the case of the ladies a lot of card playing, and they got off to a uproarious start Sunday evening after dinner.

 Three of the Newells

We retired back to our coach around 9:30 with smiles of contentment on our faces.....thanks for stopping by!
