Dumpster diving?

8:50 am - Sunday - July 4th - Seal Rock, OR - 57° F, 82% humidity, wind 8 mph out of the north....heavy marine layer today with a forecast high of 64° F.  We were promised sunshine yesterday, but the marine layer never relented.  Hoping for sunshine today.  On this day in 2016 TLE and I were riding bikes with my daughter Meredith and her friend Amy in South Lake Tahoe.....↴

OH, BY THE WAY....HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!

With the restoration of our DirecTV service Friday I was able to awaken Saturday to a recording of Stage 8 of Le Tour de France (the live show begins anywhere from 4 am to 5 am most days), and that is how I spent my morning.....

.....I was hoping the ever present marine layer would be pushed out to sea giving us a chance to soak up some vitamin D in the afternoon, but the north wind (yup, its back again) did not do its job.  After that TLE and I sat outside in the Adirondack chairs enjoying our coffee, and the fact it was not going to get any warmer than 64° F Saturday.....

......I spent time installing some blue rope lights to replace the ones which succumbed to the salty elements a couple of weeks ago, and then attempting to clean up a couple of beach chairs I rescued from one of the dumpsters (they were sitting on the ground leaning against the dumpster....I'm not really a dumpster diver....honest).....

Would you have thrown these beach chairs away?

.....we don't really need more beach chairs, but I hated to see them thrown out when they still have a lot of life in them....they just needed to be cleaned.  Maybe I'll find someone to gift them to before we leave in late September.  When I'm outside taking pictures I can't help but take another picture of the lido deck from a different angle.....it looks so inviting....TLE has done a good job with her flowers, and they are beginning to put on new blooms....

.....not much else was accomplished Saturday other than just relaxing, and enjoying Coastal Oregon with, or without a persistent marine layer, so thank you very much for stopping by!
