7:36 am - Tuesday - July 6th - Seal Rock, OR - 54° F, 94% humidity, wind 3 mph out of the north by northwest.....heavy marine layer today with no sun in the forecast.....the forecast high today is 64°. For the first time in over a week the sun will set one minute earlier at 9:03 pm. On this date in 2013 TLE and I were near Calgary, Alberta, Canada on the Kananaskis Highway....↴
Monday is the only work day Fred and I share in common, and usually Terry has a big project for us to tackle. On this Monday we spent our entire shift at the Fairwinds home trimming hedges, weed whipping, and mowing.....the park owners would be arriving later in the day and Terry wanted the property looking at its best for their arrival. We actually worked just over 4 hours, and ended up hauling three trailer loads of grass and hedge clippings to the burn pile area....
Fairwinds
.....normally the owners stay at the big blue house across the alley from Fairwinds, but apparently the entire extended family is coming, and they will need both residences to house them all.
We enjoyed a few sun showers Monday, but for the most part it was overcast and cool....perfect working weather. By the time I got home around 2:30 pm I was 'whipped', and ready for a hot shower, and a nap....in that order.
About 10 days ago we passed the summer equinox. On that date the sunset was at 9:04 pm, and it stayed there for the last week and a half, but I just noticed that the sunset will be one minute earlier Tuesday evening, and that trend will continue for the next 6 months. This is our first summer spent on the Oregon Coast so all of this is a new experience. Being from SoCal I'm used to having a marine layer throughout May and June every year (we call it the May/June gloom), but having it well into July is a new experience.
We head back to California again on Thursday afternoon to get the VW smogged (fingers crossed). We're only driving to Yreka, CA this time, which is 100 miles closer, so we hope to complete the round trip drive by Friday afternoon, and still have most of our three day weekend to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by!
