Moving in the right direction.....

6:49 am - Sunday - June 2nd - LPG&RVR - 48° F, humidity 63%,  wind 1 mph out of the north by northwest.....partially cloudy skies today with a forecast high of 74° F.  On this date in 2021 TLE and I were flying home (Seal Rocks RV Cove) from Spokane where we had attended the wedding of my niece, Caroline, to Jake....they just celebrated their 3rd anniversary.....this is a picture of Mt. Hood as we descended into PDX (Portland International).....

In spite of having gone to bed later than normal Friday evening, we were both awake, and having a silly conversation around 6:20 am.  We managed to stay in bed until 6:50 am.....just because we could....lol.  We had another kind of busy day planned, but before we got busy with projects we took our 2 mile and out and back walk averaging 3.3 mph.....

.....once that was done we got busy with the numerous minor projects around site #55 we had planned for Saturday.  First up was to thoroughly tie down the new dining canopy to avoid the wind event debacle of a week ago, which destroyed our former dining canopy....

....in all I installed 10 ropes attaching the canopy to the ground firmly.  If you enlarge each of the pictures above you can see how I configured them....the orange ones are easy to see, but the ones that came with the canopy are black, and tend to blend into the background.

Next up we drove Club Car Villager #20 over to the Clubhouse to retrieve the small dumping trailer to carry a bunch of brush we cleared from one of our new flower beds a couple of weeks ago to the burn pile.  We couldn't get the trailer very close to the pile we had created, so we used one of our tarps on which to place the brush, and carried that to the trailer.  Within 30 minutes we were done, and had returned the trailer....the picture below is where the pile of brush used to be....

....we've still go to do something with that cinder block, however.

Our final, and most time consuming project was to reinstall the Edison lights to the ceiling of the new Ozark Trail tent.  That probably took us over an hour to do, but in the end it turned out better than we hoped.....

.....finally done with the three planned projects I retired to the Newell interior to watch a little golf, and take a nap before heading over to the Clubhouse for the weekly putting contest.  I haven't putted well this season, but spent a lot of time practicing this past week.....

.....my modest goal was to make it out of the first round for a change, and I accomplished that quite easily winning four of the 5 holes....that's the best I've putted in quite a while!  In my second round I made one mistake on the 2nd hole, and lost 1-0 after 5 holes.  The take away for me is that I made all but one of my 2nd putts, had one hole in one, and was one roll of the golf ball away from two others, plus all my other first putts were within 18" of the hole....a much better showing for moi, and I seem to be moving in the right direction now.

The weather at contest time was beautiful.....

.....upon our return home we had dinner, then headed out to the 'dining/gaming deck' to play a game of 'Phase 10'.  We haven't played this card game for a few months, and now that we have a mosquito/bug proof environment we are going to spend a lot more time out there as the summer progresses......

.....speaking of summer, those warmer summer like temps are just around the corner now....

.....we've got 3 days in the low 90's next week, and look at all those low temps....mostly 50's.  By the way, I was up 3 Phases on TLE with 4 Phases to go when she engaged in a remarkable comeback beating me on the final Phase on points....doh!  It was a seesaw kind of game, but we had a great time, nevertheless.

Thanks for stopping by!
