7:49 am - Real Saturday - June 8th - LPG&RVR - 63° F, humidity 52%, wind 1 mph out of the northwest......high clouds with a forecast high of 88° F. On this date in 2021 TLE and I were enjoying the wonders of a Coastal Oregon sunset at Seal Rocks RV Cove.....
I think I mentioned that my beloved Husqvarna 2 bag, 42" deck riding lawn mower is back in service after a hiatus of 6 weeks on the disabled list. It needed new ignition coils, and they were very hard to find, but Miracle Bob did find them, and they finally arrived a few days ago. Bob promised it would be ready for me to use when I did my weekly mowing around tee boxes 3, 7, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 Friday afternoon. But, I get ahead of myself.
I arrived at the Cart Return station with TLE in tow around 7:45 am to find 2 Yamaha gassers in need of a spa treatment, so after staging the 5 Club Car electrics, I washed them down, then staged them with the other 8 Yamahas, plus one of the older Club Car gassers for a total of 16 carts.....a very nice Friday, indeed, for LPG&RVR. We ended up renting 16 carts on Friday, one of them, #75, twice.
The golf course is in pretty good shape, but the #3 tee boxes continue to be the preferred 'dump' station for the local geese and ducks. There are 5 tee boxes there (they alternate the white tee box from one side to the other), and the aforementioned fowl seem to have a preference for the white tee boxes, with the blue tee box coming in a close second. They don't bother the red, or yellow tee boxes at all. On my first round of the day I found the four sand traps to be mostly intact, but I did do a little raking in a couple to erase the foot prints of wayward golfers.
Upon my return to the Clubhouse I got out the Stihl string trimmer and cleaned up around the putting green, and along the Clubhouse deck before heading down to the tent sites, and the grass area by the bathrooms/laundry. I mowed tent sites 7-10 late last week, and needed to freshen up 4-6 for expected tenters this weekend. Mowing, and trimming grass down there is a dirty, dusty job so I wear a neck gator over my mouth and nose when working down there. I was finished with the weed eating, and mowing just before 12 pm, so headed into the Clubhouse bathroom to freshen up before giving TLE her lunch break.
After TLE's return I headed out to pick up the newly repaired Husqvarna 2 bag riding lawnmower. Since Bob resurrected her she has much more power, and runs almost as fast as the Husqvarna 3 bag mower. I would say she runs around 5 mph now, compared to the ever so slow John Deere which may hit 1.7 mph on a good day, on a down hill, with a tail wind.....lol. I was off in a cloud of dust to make my run around the course mowing around my assigned tee boxes. On the John Deere it takes me around 2 hours and 10 minutes....on the Husqvarna 2 bag mower it takes my 1 hour and 20 minutes! I was back around 2:30 pm, just in time to begin washing, and stowing golf carts. Of the 15 carts we rented, 10 had returned, so Lynn will have the remaining 5 Yamahas to wash Saturday morning. It was a good 4 day work week, which flew by quickly, as they always seem to do. I got everything done I had planned on getting done, and a little bit more. I was off by 3:40 pm...that is the first 4 day stretch I have not worked any overtime...wonderful!
On the weight loss front I am pleased to report I am down to 184 pounds....a weight I have not seen since the mid 90's. I'm within 7 pounds of my goal....177. I'm not taking any weight loss aids. I'm still doing intermittent fasting, but only eating 1 meal per day....dinner, which I generally have between 5 and 6 pm. I don't eat anything after 8 pm. My energy levels are great throughout the day, and pants I haven't worn in over a decade now fit me again....I'm glad I didn't get rid of them....lol!
Now it is time to enjoy our 4 day weekend.....thanks for stopping by!
