Stepping it up......

6:22 am - Thursday - July 11th - Ramona, CA - 54° F, 83% humidity, wind - CALM.....sunny today with a forecast high of 92° F.....I'm going to work today at 8 am to beat the heat.....the view this morning......↴

The temperatures are stepping up gradually making it easier to acclimate.  Wednesday it was 87° F, and the day prior it was 82° F.  Today (Thursday) it will be 92° F, and Friday 95° F.  Don't get me wrong....I would prefer it stay in the 70's and 80's, but alas that is not summer in SoCal.  The one really good thing is it is still getting into the low 50's at night, which makes for pleasant sleeping conditions.

I began Wednesday brushing and vacuuming the pool.  It had very heavy use Sunday through Tuesday, and it was obviously in need of some TLC.  That took me up to noontime.  I finished off the last half hour before lunch raking and sweeping the horseshoe pit area, then it was off to lunch for me.  TLE eats lunch at the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays are we are short one person on those days due to Linda's resignation. Some good news is Rich and Marnie have hired a third couple who will begin working August 1st.

I was back on the job at 1 pm working on the 'punch list' in Larry's cabin (adjust closet doors, use nail gun to staple some wood paneling back flush in the loft, and center the bed in downstairs bedroom).  By 3 pm I had gone as far as I could with the 'punch list', and headed back outside into the heat for the rest of my shift.

We had received some replacement parts via UPS for the two gas BBQ's at the Red Barn, so I headed up there with the parts.  Just as I arrived my left rear tire on my golf cart gave up the ghost.  The plug I had put in the tire to stop a leak a month ago popped out, which we thought would happen eventually as the golf cart tire tread is very thin.  I called Mike on the 2-way radio asking him to bring me the floor jack, and one of the spare tires, and got to work installing the new parts on the two BBQ's.  Mike arrived within a few minutes, helped me change the tire, and I was back in business.  After installing the new parts I cleaned the grills for each BBQ, as well as the exterior of each which brought me right up to 4 pm.

By the time TLE arrived home at 5 pm I had the interior of the Newell cooled down.  It dropped below 80° F around 7:30 pm at which time we turned off the A/C.  So grateful our 37 year old A/C's both work so well!
