Early riser......updated....

6:11 am - Friday - July 12th - Ramona, CA - 56° F, 87% humidity, wind - CALM......forecast is for sunny today with a high of 94° F.  Today is my split shift day, and I will be starting work today at 7 am, and done with the first 5 hours by 12 pm so I will be writing my daily blog post sometime after that during the five hours until I return for my final two hours of work at 5 pm....it will be cooler then.  See you then!

2:17 pm - Friday - July 12th - Ramona, CA - 93° F, 59% humidity, wind 10 mph out of the northwest......very hot, and sunny.

Thursday saw me beginning work at 8 am to get a jump on the heat later in the day.  After opening the storage yard, pool, and Red Barn I joined Mike near the security gate.  He was working on a problem with the anti siphon valve which had been repaired about 10 days ago.  There appeared to be some sort of blockage in the valve preventing water from passing through it when in the 'ON' position.  Over the course of an hour or so we disassembled the valve finding a lot of rocks and dirt clogging it.  It seemed we would have to cut the valve away from the PVC pipes to get all the rocks and dirt out, but decided to try back flushing water through it.  In the end, back flushing worked, and we did not have to cut the valve out and then reinstall it.

I spent time before lunch raking and sweeping the horseshoe pit area, blowing dirt and dust off of the patio area behind the barn, and then blowing the leaves off the mini golf holes one more time.  If I enough had time I could blow the leaves off the mini golf holes every hour as they seem to accumulate so quickly.  I checked the pool area numerous times during the day to be sure the patrons were obeying the rules (no food, drink, or alcoholic beverages), and to make sure all children under 18 years of age were being supervised by an adult. Believe it, or not, but I have found kids at the pool on more than one occasion with no adult supervision.

Towards the end of the day I went out to the entrance of the park to blow the oak leaves off the pavement, and pick up any trash which may have been discarded.  By the time I finished that task it was close to 3 pm and quitting time for me.  I decided then that on Friday I would begin working at 7 am so I could get the pool swept and vacuumed before the shade disappeared from the pool deck area.

I was home a little after 3 pm showering and then watching the rest of Le Tour de France, Stage 6, which ended with a 23% gradient in the final kilometer....brutal!  I'm sure that is one of the steepest ever finishes in Le Tour.

At 5 pm I returned to the office to retrieve TLE at the end of another work day.  I like starting earlier than 9 am as it gets me out of the major heat of the afternoon.  Looking forward to the earlier start on Friday.
