Saint Marcos......

7:58 am - Tuesday - July 9th - Ramona, CA - 58° F, 87% humidity, wind - CALM......clear, blue skies this day with a forecast high of 83° F.....got down to 63° F in the bedroom last night........the view this morning......↴

I began my day off work Monday by washing the VW for the first time in a very long time.  She looked so forlorn I just had to retrieve a hose from the trailer and make her smile again.....

.....I'm hoping having her under the sail shelter will keep her a little cleaner.

Monday I had a little over 1 week of prescription drugs left, and we hadn't been down the hill for several weeks so I called COSTCO on Friday to renew them in anticipation of being in Escondido on Monday.  COSTCO has this automated system which just requires you to enter one of your RX #'s to get into their system, then it asks you which prescriptions you need to renew.  Takes just a few minutes and you are done.  You then get an automated call within 24 hours advising you your prescriptions are ready to pickup.

We left for our run down the hill to Escondido around 11 am, arriving at COSTCO around 12:15 am (COSTCO is actually in San Marcos, which is right 'next door' to Escondido) after a quick stop at Walmart (right next door to COSTCO).  As I approached the Pharmacy I was expecting to pay around $300+ for my prescriptions, as I did last time, but the Brilinta (the most expensive) was $100 less than last time.  I thought I was getting a good deal at $275 a month ago, but this time it was only $175!  The original monthly price quoted to me with no discounts was $418.  At any rate, my total cost was $208 for everything!

We only needed a few food items at COSTCO, so we were in and out within 30 minutes.  We had planned to visit a local micro brewery in San Marcos, which does not serve food, so we procured 3 of COSTCO's $1.50 hot dogs to take with us.  The Lost Abbey Brewery was less than 10 minutes from COSTCO, and by 1 pm we were sipping brews and eating our hot dogs......

......I ordered a pint of their 'Black Lager', and TLE a pint of their Farmhouse Ale.....both in the 4-5% ABV range.  Yelp gives them 4 solid stars on over 480 reviews....we would agree.  I love these large warehouse type breweries where you sit right in the middle of the operation enjoying the smells and sounds associated with the brewing process. We hung out there for about an hour sipping our brews, and enjoying our COSTCO hot dogs.

We were home around 3:30 pm after quick stops at TruValue Hardware and Albertson's in Ramona relaxing outside on the 'lido deck'.  While we were at Walmart in San Marcos I picked up, on a whim, one of their 'Ozark Trails' 10' x 10' canopies to shelter our picnic table.....not bad for $40......

.....I think our site #72 environment is now complete.

We spent the rest of the afternoon, and into the early evening sitting outside watching Stage 3 of Le Tour de France in its entirety......all 5 hours (sans commercials, of course)!
