We began Saturday as we often do......watching an English Premier soccer match featuring Tottenham v. Bournemouth won by Tottenham 3-2. Then it was on to watching one NCAA college football game after another on what is well known as 'Rivalry Saturday'. There was only one real big upset and that was Auburn defeating Alabama 48-45 in the Iron Bowl.....a real barn burner. Ohio State steamrolled Michigan at the Big House 56-27....it was close at half time, but Ohio State took it to them in the second half. The top 4 nationally ranked teams, including Ohio State, all won their games handily
I spent part of Saturday ensconced in my trailer working on Tim's Giant Warp DS-2 full suspension MTB. I fine tuned the front derailleur, and then spent the rest of my time cleaning a few years of dust, and grime off the bike....
.....as well as installing a replacement tube on the rear tire. When I first bought this bike for Tim it had rim brakes (V-Brakes), and an entry level front shock absorber. When I began to build my Intense 5.5 I upgraded Tim's at the same time to hydraulic disc brakes, some Monkeylite Carbon Nano handlebars, an over sized front rotor, and a much more adequate, top of the line (then) Rockshox Psylo front shock, just like the one I have on the Intense. I left the cleaning of the chain for Sunday, but otherwise the bike is ready for prime time once again.
It never got above 50° F outdoors, so our portable electric fireplace remained in operation for most of the day to keep the chill off the interior of the Newell. TLE spent a big portion of her Saturday sorting through ALL of her clothing.....and I do mean ALL....by the end of the day she had a large trash bag full of things destined for the local Goodwill. I'm sure there will be some new purchases in the near future to restock her closets.
