8:27 am - Tuesday - March 14th - GNHS - 62° F, humidity 59%, wind 3 mph out of the south......partly cloudy today with a forecast high of 75° F. On this date in 2012 we boarded the Galveston Free Ferry for a ride to the Bolivar Peninsula.....our Newell's first ferry ride.....↴
On the ferry
Taking a break along the Bolivar Peninsula (southeast Texas)
TLE and I slept 'in' until almost 8 am this (Tuesday) morning.....haven't done that for a long, long time! It is so quiet here right now. I always forget how much fun I have when friends/relatives come to visit, and subsequently forget how quickly social interaction wears me down.....hence the sleeping 'in' part.
We began Monday with Charles and Phyllis taking a walk around the park. We walked slowly, and talked a lot. From our walk we headed directly to the hot tubs to take a soak....well, Charles and I did....the girls soaked their feet and gave themselves partial pedicures. I really needed a soak after all the fun on Sunday. Again the conversation continued non-stop.....
....after finishing our soak we bid our adieus, and agreed to reconvene at 1 pm for a ride into Bombay Beach, and the Ski Inn. TLE and I haven't been there in a while, and also wanted to let Charles and Phyllis experience the cool, in the middle of nowhere vibe.....
....we lingered over our brews, and food (Ortega Burgers with onion rings) until well after 2 pm before paying our check, and heading for home where we once again bid our adieus, agreeing to reconvene around 6:15 pm at the top of Snob Hill for sunset drinks, and apps.......
Great fellowship, food, and sunset!
......post DST the sun now sets closer to 7 pm, and by the time I took the last picture it was closing in on 7:30 pm. We talked about everything.....cabbages and kings sort of stuff, and by the time we bid our final adieus for the day we were both tired, but quite happy.
Thanks for stopping by!
