Filtering.....

7:19 am - Thursday - March 9th - GNHS - 56° F, humidity 51%, wind 4 mph out of the west.....mostly cloudy today with a forecast high of 76° F.  On this date in 2017 I was riding my Cannondale Bad Boy  bicycle from Tecopa Hot Springs, CA to Shosone, CA and back....27 miles in all......↴

It's been about a week since we shopped for groceries, and I needed to buy some stuff from Home Depot so we hopped in the Beetle around 9:30 am to make the 40 minute drive into La Quinta.  We arrived at Home Depot without incident around 10:15 am.  We were in no hurry this day so we wandered around looking for the things on my list, and bought a couple more things on impulse.  The main things I needed were water filters for our two stage filter that we connect to the city water.  These filters are in addition to the single water filter we've used for years.  With three filters our water quality has improved significantly according to TLE who tests it on a regular basis....

....it has been over 6 months since I changed all three filters, and that is about as long as one should go with water filters.  They are, however, quite expensive.....the two filter replacement pack runs $58, and the single blue filter around $15.

From Home Depot we made the pilgrimage over to Trader Joe's to buy some spirits, and then over to Rubio's Coastal Grill, where have not dined since October 31st.....how did we go that long?  As is my custom I ordered their 'Original 2 Fish Tacos Plate', and TLE their 'California Bowl'!.....

Alfresco, as always

....their salsas are completely unique, and second to none.  Once again we were not in a hurry, and lingered over our selections, enjoying the balmy weather.  We love how consistant the food is at Rubio's from store to store, have eaten at them all over the southwest, and never have been disappointed.

We had just one last stop before heading for home....Walmart....while TLE ran through her list of needed items I headed over to the RV section to buy a package of blue RV water filters, which will last me another year.  As has often been the case lately it took us almost as long to get through the checkout station as we spent shopping.  It seems we always get a cashier who is a tad slow in the scanning process.

We were home by 2:30 pm, and had everything put away by 3 pm.  I then got busy installing the three new water filters, and by the time I was finished it was almost 4 pm, and another GNHS day was almost in the books.  After dinner (Vichyssoise aka: cold potato soup) we headed out to the 'lido deck' to play Yahtzee.  My winning streak ended at the hat trick as we tied 3 games a piece.

Thanks for stopping by!
