6:23 am - Saturday - March 25th - GNHS - 53 degrees F, humidity 65%, wind 6 mph out of the north.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 71 degrees F. On this date in 2012 TLE and I were in Daphne, AL (on the east side of Mobile Bay) taking a bike ride when we spied this cute little cafe......↴
You wouldn't know it, but I'm typing today's blog on my new Microsoft Surface Pro 7 computer, which was delivered to me by FedEx Friday afternoon. It has Windows 11, which is a little different than the Windows 10, which was on my old Lenovo. It was easy to set up, and I love the touch screen, plus I log in with facial recognition. The screen is a tad smaller than the Lenovo, but I'll get used to it....
.....so anyway, here goes.
We had no advance bookings Friday, so we opened the office at 9 am as we usually do. While I waited to see if we would have any customers of the walkup variety I packed up my 'driving range', stowed the Adirondack chairs, stowed my bike stand, stowed the Sea-B-Que, and the table upon which it sat for the last 4+ months, as well as the 5 gallon propane bottle....
....and there were one, or two naps thrown in for good measure. The much anticipated second day of Sweet Sixteen March Madness games commenced at 3:30 pm, and the first two games saw the final two #1 seeds (Alabama, and Houston) go down to ignominious defeat. If you are a fan of the March Madness 'UPSET' this was a good day for you, and it was, indeed a good day for me. So, there are NO #1 seeds left in the tournament. Looking forward to the 'Elite 8' games beginning on Saturday, which will get us to the 'Final Four' next weekend.
The final game between Texas and Xavier ended around 9 pm....it was a good day golf and basketball wise. I will be stowing the bikes on Monday, putting away the anti gravity chairs, taking down some of the yard lights, and taking down the tool tables in the trailer. I want the trailer ready for VW insertion when we take off for Georgia on Wednesday.
Thanks for stopping by!
We got a pair of Windows 11 ASUS laptops a little over a month ago, and I am very impressed. It only takes a matter of seconds (5 or 6) to go from 'off' to 'putting in password' and fully functional when we turn them on. It is nice to have the better WiFi in them too so we get full 100 mps over our WiFi (which will end when we hit the road next week and use our 4G hotspot).
ReplyDeleteYep...love how fast it comes up. With facial recognition it is literally 5-6 seconds before I'm at the desktop.
