The last haircut.....

6:22 am - Thursday - March 23rd - GNHS - 50° F, humidity 74%, wind 5 mph out of the west by northwest.....crystal clear, blue, sunny skies today with a forecast high of 68° F.  On this date in 2013 we had arrived at Graystone Ranch Wildlife Education Center near Hephzibah, GA (a Harvest Hosts location).......↴

.....we drove there from Savannah, GA in a driving rainstorm, and the rain had just stopped when I took this picture.

Wednesday was our day 'off work' so we drove into La Quinta around 9:10 am, arriving at Supercuts about 10:10 am.  I was in dire need of a haircut.  It will be my last haircut at this Supercuts until next October when we return to GNHS.  I was able to get into a chair within 10 minutes, and by 10:40 am we were on our way to Trader Joe's.......

La Quinta Trader Joe's...a great setting and backdrop

....we were in and out of TJ's in record time (15 minutes) and on our way to La Quinta Old Town where we planned to have lunch at La Quinta Brewing Company's original location (they have three, and we ate at the Palm Desert location when we had lunch with our daughters recently).  It was just after 11 am, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves for a while.....

.....my haircut turned out pretty well....at least I'm happy.  We chose to eat 'alfresco' on this partly cloudy day.  Before heading outside we both ordered their Bourbon Barrel Stout, an appetizer, and our entrees......

....the appetizer was their Esquite (Mexican Corn) Cup......I took pictures of the menu items we ordered as it is sometimes difficult for us to remember the exact names of the dishes we order....

.....and for our entrees I ordered their Pepperoni Flat Bread (rectangular pizza), and TLE their Chicken Panini.....

......the corn 'off the cobb' appetizer was delicious.....

....the food, brews, ambiance, and service were above average, and the beautiful weather was the crowning touch to a very pleasant hour + spent sipping a couple of brews, enjoying very good pub food, and a side of great conversation.  The Old Town location has a totally different vibe, and menu than the Palm Desert one, and we are glad we checked it out!

Our last stop in La Quinta was the Ralph's Supermarket on Jefferson and 50th, where we stocked up on a lot of things to restock the pantry and fridge.  We were on our way back home by 1:30 pm, arriving back at GNHS around 2:15 pm.  It is pretty hard not to 'kill' half a day driving into La Quinta, especially since we almost always find a new place to have lunch.

By the time TLE put away all the groceries it was trending toward 4 pm, and another day at GNHS was in the books.  We've got three advance bookings for Thursday (today) so it is time I finish writing, and get dressed for another day of UTV rental fun.....lol.

Thanks for stopping by!
