After tending to the lightly used pool area Monday morning I headed down to the pond area to continue working on the split rail fencing. It was a good day to work along the pond as the high temp of the day was in the low 90's, and most of the pond area is shaded by large oak trees. It took a while to disassemble the fence before I began digging 8 post holes. Of course, the first post hole was the most difficult......someone had sunk this post in cement......
......this hole took me the better part of an hour to dig, but with the help of our large breaker bar I broke up the concrete and removed it from the hole.....
......by the time lunch came around I was beginning to place posts in their holes getting ready to assemble the fence once again.....
.....however, after lunch Rich asked me to help him mix and pour some concrete for the two new pedestal bases in sites 16 and 17, so I left off working on the fence and joined him for the rest of the afternoon.......
.....thank goodness Rich is younger and still able to lift those 100 pound cement sacks and dump them in the mixer. I think I could still probably do it.....I don't know.....but I don't think I should try to anymore.....
One done....one to go....
....once the concrete cures for a few days we can pull the new power cable through the conduit, and then mount the new pedestals. We finished between 4 and 4:30 pm, and by the time we cleaned up, and put everything away it was going on 5 pm.....that's the longest day I have worked in some time, and I was very tired......a good tired, but very tired, nonetheless.
TLE was home way before me, so by the time I reached home she had the rear A/C going, and had cooled down the interior of the Newell. Fortunately, it cooled off quickly outside, and we had the A/C off by 6:30 pm.
