Why we are here.....

Saturday it was time the Newell got her annual 'spa treatment' from Integrity Mobile Detail.  I have been using Carmello and Tom Montoya to wash, wax and detail our coach since 2009.  When I was still living in my workaday life they came to wash the Newell every month, and every 6th month they would put a new coat of wax on her Dupont Imron paint.  Now that we travel year round I contact them whenever I am in town to come out and work their magic once again.  They arrived promptly at 8:30 am, got to work, and by 1 pm the Newell had a big smile on her face once again!

While they worked on the Newell I spent time trying to get the Actiontec MyWirelessTV transmitter and receiver to work, and finally after I read, and re-read the instructions several times, figured it out.  Now I just need to finish running the final HDMI cable for the outdoor TV, but that will have to wait until after the rain forecast for Sunday has passed......you notice I didn't say 'guessed at'.....that is because it is Sunday, and it is actually raining just as forecast, so good on you weather forecasters!  Unfortunately, the accuracy of the current forecast means I am not mountain biking Sunday.

Around 4:45 we headed over to Mark and Cathy's home (Laila's grand parents) in Ontario, CA for dinner with our kids, their friends, and significant others.  We first met Mark and Cathy last year just before we headed back on the road.  We hit it off right way with them, and now it appears that a dinner party each year is becoming a tradition.

 What a handsome group

Chillin' outside before the rains came

Moi, TLE, Meredith and Cathy (Laila's grandmother)

The company and food were wonderful, and this is why we are here now......to spend quality time with family and friends, getting as many hugs and kisses as possible.  Come this October when Kate and Nick get hitched we will be officially related to Mark and Cathy, and could not be happier about that.  It's always great when you like the one your child has chosen as their life partner, but it is unequivocally a sweet bonus when you like the in-laws, too, which we do!  Thank you Mark and Cathy for a wonderful evening!

We were home before 10 where I promptly sat down in my recliner and fell asleep until 11:30 pm.....I woke up finding TLE getting ready for bed, and then realized I had not written my blog post about Friday yet, so sat down and pounded it out posting it just before midnight to keep my posting a daily blog every single day of the week record intact.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I have been following your blog for a little over a year. I had found it as we were preparing to start our travels. I was looking for hints and answers...thank you for your answers. I started a blog after we had been on the road a few weeks. I want to applaud you for posting every day and I enjoy reading about your travels.
