'The Rise of Skywalker.....'

8:01 am - Sunday - January 5th - Ramona, CA - 46° F, 83% humidity, wind - CALM.....clear, cool, blue skies today with a forecast high of 69° F.

We have wanted to see the new Star Wars movie (The Rise of Skywalker) since we heard about its impending release several months ago, and Saturday became the day we would go.  I purchased our tickets using the Angelika Film Center app, and secured two seats (G-12 & 13) for the 9:30 am 'Wake Up' show.....you get free coffee in the morning at Angelika!

We were out the door by 8:15 am, and in the parking lot at Angelika a tad before 9 am, so we sat in the outdoor dining area until they opened the doors at 9 am enjoying the balmy, early morning air for a few minutes.  We had our coffees and were in our seats by 9:10 am.  We had heard media reports panning this new Disney offering, but our kids, and friends who had seen it had nothing but praise.....we were not disappointed.  This is a 2.5 hour movie, so be sure you go to the bathroom as close to the beginning of the movie as possible....lol!  A few tears were shed as the very sentimental ending of the movie played out.....if you are a Star Wars fan you will enjoy this latest installment of this long running franchise!

After a quick stop at Trader Joe's were were on our way home.......a few months ago we joined the Ramona Ranch Winery wine club.  As part of membership (free) you agree to purchase two bottles of wine every quarter.....they will ship it to you, or you can pick it up in person, which is the option we chose.  I had received an email a few weeks ago that our two bottles were ready for pickup, so we stopped in on our way home to do just that.....

.....another perk of club membership is you get two free glasses of wine each time you visit, so we took our wine choices out to the patio to enjoy them, and the beautiful early afternoon.....

.....on our way out we picked up our bottles of wine........

....then headed for home.  There were two Wild Card NFL playoff games Saturday......the Buffalo Bills vs. the Houston Texans at 1:30 pm....this was a great game, and ended up being won by Houston on a last second field goal as the clock hit 'ZERO'.  A very defensive game, and close....for what more could one ask?  The second game began at 5:30 pm, and pitted the Tennessee Titans vs. the New England Patriots......this was a one point game with 15 seconds to go in the game (14-13) in favor of the visiting Titans.  On the first play from scrimmage Brady (Patriots) threw a 'pick 6' interception which ended their hopes of repeating as NFL champions.  Again, another very close game......perfect!
